A campaign for a new school in Leeds

22nd April 2012

Since applying to the DfE in February 2012 to open a new school as part of the Government's Free Schools programme, we have been invited to interview by the DfE to present our case in detail.

This interview will take place some time in May 2012. We hope a final decision will be made by the DfE some time in July or August 2012.

We have applied to open in September 2013 with Reception, Y1, Y2 and Y3 growing to a through school catering for a single form of Reception to Y11 (age 4 to 16). Depending on many factors and importantly the final evidence of demand gathered since February 2012 we may be able to increase the size of the school.

We aim to bring a new dynamic and vibrancy to education in Leeds though the use of a world renowned and established education system that aims to:

engage the 'whole' child in physical, intellectual and emotional learning.

foster and create an enduring life long appetite for learning.

deliver successful child centred education for all children aged 4 – 16 of all abilities.

integrate learning arts and sciences, theoretical and practical, alongside excellence in numeracy and literacy.

For anyone who has wondered if there is a different way to educate than the current mainstream system, find our more about our proposal on this site.
